Today the Brickford Gazette was invited to view the progress of Brickford’s new train station that’s being built on the north end of Hill Road.
The station, which will double our rail capacity, is on track to open in January. It will include a large platform, overhead canopy, a food outlet, and a second retail outlet.
Chief planner from PlastiBuild, Ivor Way, told us ‘now that the main platform deck is built, we can start to put the walls in place quite quickly‘. However he told us ‘erecting the canopy will be a complicated procedure that will include closing the rail line for safety reasons‘.
The food outlet will be built next, with the glass-fronted retail unit to follow.
Brickford’s transport system has won several awards in the last few years, due to it’s mass expansion in rail, air and road freight, and monorail.
